Tell es-Sultan (Jericho), the Oldest City in the World By Dr Hadan Taha, This Week in Palestine, Issue No. 144, April 2010. "The site of Tell es-Sultan is located in the lower plain of the Jordan Valley, approximately 10 kilometres north of the Dead Sea. At a depth of 250 metres below sea level, and with a history that dates back to the Neolithic Period, it is the lowest and oldest town on earth."
